April 2024
We returned to school following the Easter holidays to an impressive display of umbrellas in one of our main corridors! This is to support and raise awareness of neurodiversity, and the display has caused much thoughtful discussion amongst staff and pupils. In addition to the display, there has been awareness raising sessions for pupils with their Learning Coaches and in assemblies, and later this month, we will be having a non-uniform day and other activities to raise money for neurodiversity charities. This whole project has been driven by one of our 6th Form students Mollie, with the support of one of our Assistant Headteacher and ALNCo Mrs Berry. Congratulations to Mollie on bringing this idea to me, and for all of her hard work in organising the whole event.
April has also been a busy month, particularly for our examination years. Lots of examinations have taken place in many of our practical subjects such as Art and Photography, as well as oral examinations in Welsh, to name but a few. It has been impressive to see the mature and committed approach that our students have taken to these examinations, and this will no doubt stand them in good stead for the final written examinations which start in May.
